Burgundy Knit Tie - Crunchy

This burgundy silk knit tie has been made in Germany and is characterised by its high amount of silk, making this tie crisp to the touch which is the reason this knit is called crunchy knit. The silk yarns have been knitted flat on a 16 metre long machine, then sewn into tie shape and finally stretched on wooden strips for 24 hours. This last production step ensures form and drape of the silk knit tie.

Another way of knitting silk is circular knitting. The tubular knitting machine, which is also used to make socks, requires less silk threads. This is why circular knitted ties, also known as soft knit, are more lightweight and supple as well as being less expensive and less time consuming to produce. Casual yet elegant with a pretty retro vibe to it, the silk knit tie has been a staple piece of the male wardrobe for almost 10 years and is not going anywhere anytime soon!
