One of the main fabrics for casual shirts is chambray. Often confused with denim, chambray couldn't be more different! And the differences start with the weave of the threads. Chambray is woven in a plain weave, which makes the weft thread pass above and then below the warp thread and vice versa. The result is an airy and supple "grainy" fabric. The twill weave, used in denim, is characterised by oblique lines and greater strength. The raw look of this chambray shirt is obtained by weaving a white thread with a blue thread, which adds beautiful irregularities. With an average weight of 130 g/m², this Albiate 1830 fabric, renown Italian weaver, makes an ideal shirt for all seasons.
You may be familiar with our fondness for short collars, including our iconic reverse collar. But the banded collar is no less interesting! Made up of a simple collar stand, the band collar shirt is worn closed to the last button. And to add our proper twist, we went for a metal collar button. This raw chambray shirt with its banded collar inspires us of the elegance of 1920s England and one man in particular. Are you following us? Hint: he's part of a gang of thugs.
