And it's no different in fashion. The best example is certainly the overshirt, which is worn like a jacket but looks like a shirt. And this practical combination of shirt and jacket is part of the inspiration for this cardigan.

Knitted from 100% OEKO-TEX® certified extra-fine merino wool and guaranteed mulesing-free, it's as cozy as a favorite sweater, as warm as a jacket, and as elegant as a shirt! Hmm, maybe we should have marketed it more as a 3-in-1 jacket....

A family run atelier specializing in knitwear

That "Made in Italy" is a real reference in fashion is probably because it points to a traditional craftsmanship that has been lost in other countries. And in the field of wool, this savoir-faire can be found at Zegna Baruffa in the north of the country. It was this spinning mill that revolutionized the textile industry in the late 1970s with Cashwool®, a merino wool as luminous as silk and as soft as cashmere.

And it is from this extra-fine merino wool that our wool sweaters are knitted near Florence. Specializing in knitwear and accessories since the 1960s, the family-run manufacturing atelier works exclusively with local raw materials to ensure better traceability and compliance with social and environmental standards.

A resources saving manufacturing method

To avoid the unnecessary waste of resources and at the same time achieve a better fit, our tailor makes all our sweaters using the fully-fashioned fabrication method. In this method, the different parts of the sweater are knitted directly into shape and then sewn together. The proportions are more harmonious, the seams are cleaner and more solid.
