The overshirt 2.0
An essential with many combination(possibilities)
The overshirt is still a bit new on the list of essentials, but with us it is already in its 2nd version this year - with new colors and small detail changes, otherwise we stayed true to our line: A piece that combines the elegance of a shirt with the comfort and practicality of a jacket, and at the same time is an ideal layering item. Available in a variety of bright colors, our overshirt 2.0 is perfect for a balmy summer evening, the transitional season, or as a layer in the winter months. From camel to terracotta to navy blue - rich hues that are still easy to mix and match. Worn open or buttoned, over a plain t-shirt or a classy business shirt, under a denim shirt or a wool coat, the casual elegant simplicity of the overshirt sets no limits to the look variations.
Mediterranean fabrics and making
A mix of linen and cotton
For a breathable and durable fabric
Cotton forms the basis for our shirt jacket with 84%, while linen makes up the remaining 16%. Absorbent, hypoallergenic, antibacterial, durable, light, airy - the list goes on. The overshirt is made of two natural materials with many complementary properties that make a dream team for summer. And as for the overall look, linen gives the shirt jacket a light but flowing texture that is perfect in summer looks.
We found this summery fabric blend in Spain, at the century-old weaver Santanderina, which, as its name suggests, is located near the city of Santander in northern Spain. And this weaver is not completely unknown to us - the fabric of our chinos as well as the shirt jackets of last summer season we all got from him. This positive experience and the common conviction of a responsible textile industry have led us to choose also the fabric of the new shirt jacket from their catalog.
Details 2.0
The same ingredients
We haven't changed much in the details compared to our shirt jacket from last summer season. A casual cut that is straight without being oversized, with a very slightly rounded hem and a classic collar that allows you to combine a wide variety of looks.
Unique vintage patina
Piece dyeing, or garment dyeing, involves dipping the final product into special tanks filled with a mixture of pigments. This means that the color cannot be 100% controlled and therefore imprints differently on the seams or pocket edges. This gives each shirt a beautiful, slightly vintage look with a unique character.
Having deep pockets
To start the summer season 2023 with even more casualness, we have chosen two chest flap pockets for the new version of the shirt jacket. With solid buttons and natural shiny stone nut, they fit perfectly with the casual style.
To make the overshirt even more practical, we opted for two slanted side pockets, So you can casually walk around with your hands in the pockets. Another detail: the right pocket has a hidden zipper. So you can keep your keys or cell phone in it without fear of losing your valuables.
How to wear the overshirt 2.0 ?
And we have also remained faithful to our Tunisian ready-to-wear atelier, which was founded in 2004 and is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation, has also produced this season what we had designed on paper: a summery jacket with a sartorial finish at a reasonable price. Whether as a layer or a jacket, with a shirt or a t-shirt, open or closed - with the overshirt you have a garment that can be worn in any season and with (almost) any style.
