The Nines x Alex Cormac 2025
When we proposed to Alex last year to work on some bold pieces that would embody both his pronounced taste for workwear sartorialism and our vision of timeless elegance, the challenge was as great as the enthusiasm generated by this capsule, which sold out in just a few days. We naturally arranged to meet for an even more original and ambitious spring collection.
Make way for the 3-piece suit
The starting point of this ambitious yet perilous development is our shared knowledge of future newlyweds' expectations for their Big Day. At The Nines, we outfit numerous couples each year with shirts and ties as they come to discuss and create their outfits in our Parisian boutiques. Alex, for his part, has responded to dozens (perhaps even hundreds?) of style consultation requests on this subject.
The revealed expectations
With this relative legitimacy, we worked on the perfect three-piece suit for the big day. And here's what seemed essential to us:
- Beautiful proportions with generous lapels on the jacket side and high-waisted trousers with elegant pleats for an impeccable drape.
- Structured shoulders for a build that matches the importance of the context.
- A lightweight fabric that holds its shape: fresh wool seemed essential with its thermoregulating qualities and wrinkle resistance
- A dark blue fabric color that evolves with light, showing cobalt hues and allowing you to opt for accessories or
- A streamlined 6-button waistcoat to avoid overwhelming the ensemble
- Details that make the difference, such as the addition of slanted flap pockets, adjustment tabs, and even buttons inside the trousers to accommodate potential suspenders.

The OSTARA suit by Alex Cormac
The result? This Ostara 3-piece suit proves to be a completely versatile suit, suitable for both special occasions and everyday wear.
The trousers feature a loose cut, high waist, 5 cm cuffs, forward-facing pleats, and adjustment tabs for optimal comfort.
The waistcoat has no lapels with a martingale to adjust the silhouette and open pockets to carry a pocket watch.
The jacket is inspired by Tom Ford creations, with structured shoulders, slanted flap pockets, a ticket pocket, and massive peak lapels to enhance the build.
For the fabric, we chose fresh wool from the Italian house Zignone of Biella, a material we know well as we've offered it before and always received excellent feedback. And it was even tested and approved by Erwan, co-founder of The Nines, at his wedding in September 2023!
