The Nines x Alex Cormac 2025
When we proposed to Alex last year to work on some bold pieces that would embody both his pronounced taste for workwear sartorialism and our vision of timeless elegance, the challenge was as great as the enthusiasm generated by this capsule, which sold out in a few days. We naturally set a date for an even more original and ambitious spring collection.
Make way for the 3-piece suit
The starting point for this ambitious and perilous development is our shared knowledge of future grooms' expectations for the Big Day. At The Nines, we equip a large number of couples with shirts and ties each year, who come to discuss and compose their outfits in our Parisian boutiques. Alex, on his side, has responded to dozens (maybe even hundreds?) of requests for style advice on this subject.
Unveiled expectations
With this relative legitimacy, we worked on the perfect 3-piece suit for the big day. And here's what seemed essential to us:
- Beautiful proportions with generous lapels on the jacket side and high-waisted trousers with nice pleats for an impeccable fall on the trouser side.
- Structured shoulders for a build that matches the importance of the context.
- A lightweight fabric that holds its shape: cool wool seemed essential to us with its thermoregulatory qualities and wrinkle resistance
- An evolving dark blue fabric color that will catch the light with cobalt hues and allow you to opt for accessories or
- A streamlined 6-button waistcoat to avoid overloading the ensemble
- Finishes that make the difference, such as the addition of slanted flap pockets, adjustment tabs, and even buttons inside the trousers to accommodate potential suspenders.

The OSTARA suit by Alex Cormac
The result? This Ostara 3-piece suit turns out to be a completely versatile suit, suitable for both special occasions and everyday wear.
The trousers have a loose fit, high waist, 5 cm cuffs, forward-facing pleats, and adjustment tabs for optimal comfort.
The waistcoat is without lapels, with a martingale to adjust the silhouette and open pockets to carry a pocket watch.
The jacket is inspired by Tom Ford creations, with a structured shoulder, slanted flap pockets, a ticket pocket, and massive peak lapels to highlight the build.
For the fabric, we opted for the cool wool from the Italian house Zignone of Biella, a fabric we know well as we've offered it before and the feedback has always been excellent. And it was actually tested and approved by Erwan, co-founder of The Nines, at his wedding in September 2023!
