The use of the belt dates back to ancient times. Contrary to what one might think, the belt was not made to hold up trousers but was used as decoration by soldiers to adorn their waist! It was thanks to sailors — in the 1920s — that the belt as we know it today was born. Indeed, British sailors used a rope to hold up their trousers. Not very practical when it got wet! They therefore came up with the idea of replacing the rope with a leather strap fastened with a buckle.

Belt width
After selecting the material that suits you and deciding in which circumstances you wish to wear your belt, you need to choose the right belt size. Not only should you match your belt to your hip measurement or trouser size, but also adapt it to the width of your trouser belt loops. We offer three different widths: thin, narrow and medium.

To choose the right size for a men's belt, measure your waist or pants size in centimeters, then add 15 cm. For example, if your waist size is 85 cm, go for a belt size of 100. Ensure the chosen size corresponds to the distance from the buckle to the middle hole for the best fit. Opt for a belt with multiple holes to allow for more flexibility.
