The reminiscence back to university times is undoubtly connected to an ounce of nostalgie, which reminds us of lectures, as well as of seduction courses in the famous Bodleian Library, of games of check...

... and definitely also of the preparations for nightly events.

The collection

Let yourself drift through our Oxford collection, which was inspired by the preppy, british university looks. Our The Nines club ties are handmade with the greatest care by our italian ateliers. With our collections we are always striving to bring quality and style together.

The male preppy style is characterized mainly through chino pants, a shirt with a pin collar or tab collar and a tie with the name "club", which represents the colours of universities. This allows fellow members to recognize each other.

The striped club-tie was firstly worn in the military - that's where its former name "regimental tie" comes from. Later also sport clubs and universities used to show off their colours and emblems on their ties. The combination of colours and emblems made it much easier to differenciate from others and to be recognized as well.

The british club-tie is different than the american "repp tie". The difference lies in the stripes. The stripes of the british club-tie begin in the heart - they run therefore from left to right.
