The different tie fabrics
Here at The Nines we only use fine and natural fabrics such as silk, linen, wool, cashmere and cotton to offer you ties of high-quality, that will give you lasting pleasure. The good material is what defines all our ties, because we know nothing goes beyond the brilliance and touch of real silk. Polyester or synthetic fibers therefore are not an option at The Nines.
Ties made of silk continue to be seen as kings among the ties and are therefore most frequently seen, but also other fabrics such as wool, cotton, cashmere and linen are on the rise and gaining in popularity. Many people forget, that apart from silk, there are also other great tie fabrics, with which one can easily make something special out of his outfit.
Which tie fabric is the right one?
When selecting the material, the season and the climate should always be taken into account. While warmer ties made of wool and cashmere are more suitable on cold autumn and winter days and can be worn to thicker jackets of, for instance, tweed, light ties made of silk or linen should be better worn in the warmer months in spring and summer and can combined perfectly to thinner cotton or linen jackets. In summery colors, they do not only spread good mood, but also provide a refreshing spot of color in the outfit.

The choice of the right material depends on many factors. It is often a matter of taste whether you opt for a tie made of silk, cotton, linen, cashmere or wool. However, there are some rules that should be followed when choosing the tie fabric.
The agony of choice
Silk
In the offices mostly silk ties are to be seen. This is no surprise, because the most frequently chosen tie fabric makes all outfits look very formal. Silk can also be combined with other materials in a variety of ways. In our large collection of ties you will find silk ties with a proportion of linen, wool and cotton. The latter is very often used in the processing of thinner summer ties. In addition, we also have ties of perfectly smooth and unstructured satin as well as grenadine silk.
Wool, cotton and linen
In case you do not want to dress up to The Nines, we advise you to opt for a wool or knitted tie. These provide a lighthearted and casual look and are therefore perfect for everyday life as well as less formal occasions. Pocket squares and bow ties made of wool also give a more casual impression. The same applies to bow ties and pocket squares made of cotton, linen and cashmere.
Apart from that, there are other advantages: the elegant and more discreet colors enable many different combinations and styles and the pleasantly soft material makes the wearing of wool, cotton and linen ties a completely new experience.

Cashmere
The cashmere wool is a very fine and soft natural fiber, which is extracted from the coat of the cashmere goat, and one of the most valuable and expensive natural fibers. The mixture with silk or ordinary wool results in the known fine-texture. At the same time, however, the positive characteristics of the other materials are also maintained, which makes the good quality of cashmere. In view of its characteristics, the material belongs to the precious wools and is a demanded product of the luxury segment.
