THE SLIM TIE: TRENDY AND ORIGINAL

16 May 2015

A slim tie is a thin tie. Inspired by styles from the 1950s and 1960s, the slim tie is again a very trendy fashion accessory. It is now present on all the catwalks and red carpets with celebrities such as Patrick Dempsey and Robert Pattinson.

These slim ties are distinguished from traditional ties, which are more conventional. The slim tie has its advantages. It corresponds to the distinguished modern man, and can be worn by people of all ages. Thus, by its shape, the ‘slim’ brings a young and trendy style. Furthermore, a narrow tie enhances your figure, unlike a wide tie. With this tie, slim profiles accentuate their "thinness" and so it matches their bodies, as a natural extension. The slim tie is perfect if you want to add an elegant edge to a slender look, while adding a touch of originality.

Quick tips

Lslim ties can be worn for more formal occasions, such as weddings, or for more casual ones. They combine perfectly with shirts with fitted cuts, including short collars such as the Figaret collar or the French collar. For a fashionable and sober look, choose a slim black silk tie, not too shiny, worn with a white shirt. Warning, do not forget to match the width of the tie to the width of your lapel. Indeed, the tie must be of a width approximately equal to the width of your lapel. Note that for the tie and for the lapel, the measurement is made at the widest point.

The House of Ties is the specialist for narrow ties: there you'll find ties for everyone’s taste, plain or patterned. Of very high quality, they are imported from Italy.
