The knitted tie is a stylish masculine accessory, and it’s come back

The knitted ties are a stylish masculine accessory, and it’s come back, after almost disappearing in favour of the silk tie. Particularly fashionable in the 60s and 70s, it was very wide and was worn with "elephant leg" pants and shirts in bright colours. The knitted wool tie made its comeback in the fashions of the 90s. The knitted tie has the special ability of adapting to every outfit because of its square-end finish, and because it’s not silky, making it a more pleasant accessory to wear. Less heavy and more flexible, knitted ties are generally made in dark solid colours, and with no pattern. The knitted wool tie is back in fashion, and you can easily find them in cashmere worn with classic outfits, for example, but there are also cotton or silk knit variants.

Knitted ties are often made by hand. This is the perfect gift for a boy and above all it is becoming more trendy. To make a tie, it just has to be knitted in moss stitch, for example: knit one, purl one and you’ve got your tie, which should be about 1.52 metres long. While the knitted tie tends to be warm and goes very well with warm clothes, it can be worn all year. A knitted wool tie is wrinkle-resistant, so it’s ideal for packing in a suitcase. It is the favourite accessory of travellers!
