Street art socks inspired by Banksy
Crowdfunding or participative funding is on the rise in recent years. In the US, some 400,000 projects have been made possible in 2012 thanks to this alternative financing system. The platforms offering to support the most original projects are many, and it was on Kickstarter that we discovered the unusual SOCKS MINT project which we wish to share with you. Initiated by a couple of New Yorkers, SOCKS MINT offers a collection of men’s socks with street art motifs. For the company founders, socks must assert themselves as a space for expression for men and not be just a comfortable accessory. Here is a sample of the patterns from their collection:
But their innovation does not lie only in the eccentric patterns offered: MINT SOCKS also innovates by introducing an insurance system to prevent the loss of a sock. If one sock gets lost, the customer then has a year to request a replacement sock, which will be shipped without needing proof of the loss. This project is currently in the process of being financed and will open in January 2014. We will certainly keep you informed of progress. What do you think of the patterns of the socks, and the insurance system? If you are looking for less eccentric socks, discover our collection here.
