No Black Friday, this Friday is solidary!

Clothes do not make the man.
But it helps...

This year again we are not taking part in Black Friday! Well, actually we do. A bit. Only that it became green under the initiative #MakeFridayGreenAgain. And a bit pink. Pink? Yes, indeed, as this weekend also sets the beginning of our partnership with La Cravate Solidaire Bordeaux.

La Cravate Solidaire

La Cravate Solidaire is a French non-profit organisation founded in January 2012 on the initiative of three economics students, Yann Lotodé, Nicolas Gradziel and Jacques-Henri Strubel. In the beginning of this association was the observation that disadvantaged young people or reintegrated workers do not necessarily have the resources to buy suitable clothing for an interview or their first days at work. Thus, the Paris Association, which now has nine branches in France and one in Belgium, provides its beneficiaries with suitable workwear tailored to their needs and helps them prepare for their job interviews. As such, they help fight discrimination on grounds of appearance and facilitate access to employment. As their slogan perfectly summarises: "l'habit ne fait pas le moine, mais il y contribue", which means "fine feathers make fine birds". And here is the number to prove it: 70% of their candidates pass their interviews and have more self-confidence.

The Nines x La Cravate Solidaire Bordeaux

At the beginning of the year, La Cravate Solidaire set up its clothing racks and shelves in Bordeaux. We are here to fill them! The connection with our team in Bordeaux was made very naturally: Atelier of Elegance creating elegant clothing and accessories for men on one hand and charity offering workwear to people in need helping regain access to employment on the other, it did not take long to put one and one together. This Green Friday is only the beginning of this partnership, which we wish to build for the long term: Donations of new clothes and accessories, workshops to help prepare for job interviews, assistance with sorting and highlighting the collected clothes, there is no lack of possibilities to support this noble cause, and we are looking forward to get started!
