No Black Friday this year: it's time for Green Friday!

23 November 2020

The Nines - Green Friday 2020

Last year, we had the pleasure to be part of the movement Green Friday - Make Friday Green Again. This year, this marketing operation is somewhat disrupted due to the current health context and the mandatory closure of "non-essential" businesses in France. Traditionally, Black Friday takes place on the last Friday of November: this traditional event, which comes straight from the United States, has gradually conquered France in recent years. Brands will therefore offer their customers big discounts and all kinds of offers.

However, these same brands release a lot of novelties and collections during the year and thus encourage over-consumption by participating in a Black Friday that makes the spiral of fast fashion run. By joining the 1000 French brands participating in this project, we are committed to a reasoned and responsible consumption towards the environment and the actors of this sector, encouraging to sort, recycle and resell the superfluous and to promote the quality of clothes and accessories that last.

During our Green Friday 2019, we launched our solidarity day, in partnership with the association La Cravate Solidaire of Bordeaux. This association aims to help disadvantaged young people at the beginning of their career or people in professional reintegration who do not necessarily have the resources to buy an appropriate outfit for a job interview or their first days at work. It is therefore natural that we wanted to take part in this great project! When you made your purchases, 20% of the amount was donated to La Cravate Solidaire in order to offer an appropriate work outfit to its members. At the same time, the association also helps them prepare for their job interviews for a professional integration that puts all the chances on its side!

What about 2020? While this year has been particularly challenging for small businesses like ours, both economically and humanly, we are proud to be part of this edition of Green Friday again this year. A colorful Green Friday that also has its own surprises ahead of it... But we will not reveal them right away. See you on Friday, November 27, 2020 to discover our solidarity action!
