How to wear a brown chino ?
The chino is the trouser that can suit many styles : at The Nines we offer you a complete guide to the chino that will help you wear it in its different colours. Here we tackle the colour tan, a timeless colour in the men's wardrobe. It's a rather strong and marked colour that should be associated with light tones. Historically named after the colour of the tobacco leaves produced in the capital of the same name, today it is described as a medium brown tending towards orange. And this is exactly the colour used for our chino, the dark brown being a bit out of date... White, the colour of cleanliness and simplicity, comes to mind, but we have more than one trick up our sleeve ! Here are our suggestions for pairing the tan chino at its finest.
Cigar and Cuba libre
The tan chino is our favourite : timeless, classic and exotic at the same time, it can be worn on many occasions. The look that comes to mind most quickly is the white shirt. Choose your collar : Italian, English, officer... And don't wear anything else ! Well, except for shoes if you haven't landed in Havana yet. On a summer evening to go to the restaurant or an afternoon on a boat with friends, this outfit will distinguish you while remaining comfortable in your chino.

And who said that style can't be exported ? Nobody, you're right. That's why we're now suggesting that you put on this havana chino on a Monday morning and head to work. To change from the traditional blue and beige that you see on 3/4 of the open space, we allow you to play the Havana card. It will even go extremely well with a dark blue jacket on top and if you're motivated : go into the details and match your socks to your top. We already know that you'll be setting the trend and making your colleagues at work look old-fashioned !
Editors' picks
This is the corner of special mentions for items that we think will look great with your tan chino looks. We've unearthed this nugget for you : the union of blue and tan. So we suggest you wear this look, a bit executive, which includes two different shades of blue. First, we chose this Sea Island cotton shirt with its white standout collar. And if that's not enough, the pin collar and musketeer cuffs announce the colour ! Finally, superimpose a wide tie in a darker blue and you're done. Want a little more ? Match your socks by opting for a pair of sky blue or navy blue.
