How do I wash my chino ?
Chino or not chino, your first reflex when you buy a garment must be to read the pictograms. Often written in tiny characters and not easy to find... We promise that on our chino we didn't hide them in the lining. But as we are very nice and we want to make it easier for you, we put them here in a big picture :
Step 1: Cold and upside down for the first
As soon as you receive your chino, the first thing you should do is wash it cold. This way, you'll get used to the threads and the material being abused in the drum of your machine. In any case, we wouldn't want to be in its shoes ! Also, remember to set your spinning speed to the bare minimum, going beyond 800 rpm is not really recommended.
Step 2: Regular washing, machine or hand
Although we would advise you to wash your chino only when necessary, you don't want to leave it with yesterday's ketchup stain. So we've got you covered, the laundry allergy sufferers. For a machine run, we'll opt for the classic 30°C wash and as for the spinning, we'll advise you, just like for the first wash, not to exceed 800 rpm. Moreover, we take a second piece of advice from our previous section : turn your chino over each time you put it in the dirty laundry. This way, the rubbing caused by the washing will only have an impact on the parts that are not visible when it is worn. Plus, you'll notice our beautiful patterned lining on our chinos. If you prefer to wash your clothes as little as possible and use a hand wash for the occasional touch up, there is one product that will be your best ally : black soap. You can do everything with it and almost no stain can resist it. And as a weapon, opt for a soft brush, which is more effective than a sponge. Be careful with the bristles of this brush, which should not be too stiff and scratch the cotton of your trousers.
Step 3: Colours and drying
Even if the rainbow is a wonder of the world to look at, we don't want our laundry to look like it. An accident can happen when you don't take care to separate the colours in your washing machines. A first piece of advice, which does not only apply to the world of chino, is to separate the dark from the light, to put the colours together and above all to wash the white separately. Users of bleaching wipes are already laughing at us and we understand. If you're used to washing colours together with that witchcraft, do so. But be warned : for the same results in the long term, we always advise sorting to avoid colour fading. Now for the drying: don't put it in a tumble dryer, we can't guarantee that it won't have lost a size when it comes out... So lay it on a thread or a "Tancarville" (we like that one) and that's it. Also make sure it doesn't touch other fabrics or colours while drying.
