How to properly care for socks?
Whether you consider socks to be underwear, i.e. a basic, or a fashion accessory, the fact remains that socks are subjected to a lot of wear and tear on a daily basis. Rubbing in shoes, lack of hygiene and various rough surfaces can take their toll on socks. Therefore, to increase the lifespan of your socks, proper care is key.
Washing:
Socks can be washed in the washing machine at max. 30 °C. A delicate wash program is also recommended for particularly high-quality socks.
Set your washing machine to a spin speed of 700 rpm.
It is best to wash your socks in a laundry net. This will prevent your socks from getting into the washing machine, tearing or possibly causing clogs.
Drying:
For the sake of the environment, your electricity bill and the lifespan of your clothes, it is best to avoid the dryer. Same goes for socks: It's better to lay socks out flat to dry on a clothes rack.
Storage:
As far as storage goes, there's not much to say about socks except that pairs of socks are best kept together. Flat, folded or rolled, which way you store your socks in your closet or drawer is up to you.
For example, you can also use a box to store your sock pairs neatly by making up a sock week set. Or you can choose one of our ready-made sock sets. Our sock sets with the elegant dark blue box also make for a great gift!
