In the very large family of cottons, a plant cultivated around the world, the "Sea Island" variety stands out from others as true white gold. Sea Island cotton is one of the most refined and rarest in the world. It is visibly more resistant, softer, and more luxurious. Highly sought after, some brands claim to use this cotton variety. It's often a fraudulent claim: only the certificate from the specialized West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association (WISICA) guarantees the authenticity of Sea Island cotton. This way, you are sure to get a genuine sea island shirt.

The finest and most sought-after in the world

Sea Island cotton is currently grown in the British West Indies on the island of Barbados, where the climate is ideal for the cotton flower to flourish. Intended for the manufacture of exceptional fabric shirts, Sea Island represents only 0.0004% of global cotton production.

Its fiber, at least 3 times longer than all other cottons, allows for incredibly fine threads with unique softness. Too delicate to be machine-harvested, this cotton is exclusively hand-picked. Its two-ply yarn of the finest count (140/2 x 140/2) gives it a unique touch and flexibility. It is also very lightweight at around 100 g/m2.

These shirts are exclusively designed by our teams in Paris. The Tessitura Monti workshop, located in northeastern Italy, carefully crafts the textile for our Sea Island cotton shirts. The Italian house Tessitura Monti has specialized in manufacturing quality shirt fabrics for over a century and possesses genuine traditional expertise. Sea Island shirts are easy to maintain: we recommend washing at 30°C and avoiding the dryer.

The Italian collar

For our new version of the formal Italian collar shirt in Sea Island cotton, we have extended the length of the collar points. This collar combines understated elegance and modernity: depending on the occasion, it can be worn with a wide-knotted tie such as the Windsor, Trinity, or crossed knot. With a bit of practice, these different ways of tying a tie will be at your fingertips! Its shape allows it to easily adapt to all face types. A true essential in any gentleman's wardrobe!

The cutaway collar

We also offer one of our flagship shirt collars: the cutaway collar. We have added a nice white contrasting collar to bring a more formal touch, approaching casual chic. This type of collar is worn without neck accessories - tie or bow tie. This distinctive garment with fine blue stripes in Sea Island cotton will have a special place paired with a jacket and gray or navy blue suit pants.

The English collar

This shirt style, decidedly "1920s British", stands out with a contemporary twist. With a tie or bow tie, the English collar shirt is a model suitable for festive occasions or professional attire. The English collar features a button-down tab to close the collar and join both sides, giving it a sophisticated look. Made from Sea Island cotton, it proves to be very soft and comfortable against the skin.
