What started out as a small tailoring atelier in the early 1970s has grown 50 years later into a company that combines traditional craftsmanship with the innovation of modern technology, while retaining the original passion for needle and thread. Our tie manufacturer is located at the heel of the Italian boot near Lecce and is now run by the founding couple and their two sons.
It makes no sense to choose a high-quality shell, also known as the envelope - the outer fabric of the tie - if the tie itself is not produced with the appropriate care, which only a craftsman with proven savoir-faire can apply. To ensure a perfect shape, our atelier always adapts the interlining to the thickness of the shell of each tie, for which, by the way, we have designed our own pattern. The closing seam, which serves literarily as the backbone of the tie, is hand sewn in a slip stitch: a single thread is running loosely along the entire length of the necktie. To reinforce the closing seam, the seamstresses' nimble hands place two bar tack stitches - or Travetto in Italian - on the large and small sides of the tie. This special stitch is obtained by wrapping the thread around the needle 18 times. It is the precise and passionate execution of these steps that makes the quality of our ties!
