A year unlike any other: our 2020 review

After the end of the year's celebrations, it is time to take a look back at the previous year. The least we can say is that it has been eventful, intense and has forced us to question ourselves.

A mixed beginning

Early January 2020, we rethought our way of retailing to bring you a complete men's wardrobe made up of essential, timeless pieces adapted to all seasons. The idea of our preorder/essentials system then grows, aiming to combine elegance, durability and custom manufacturing. This new system requires a few months to set up and is officially launched at the beginning of the summer.

During March, we set up free master classes in our Parisian stores to answer all your questions about the expertise of men's accessories. From mastering knots, ties and bow ties to preparing accessories for your wedding... the answers are now easily found by everyone!

But what will have clearly impacted the month of March is inevitably the rise of a global health crisis and an early lockdown. To bring our stone to the fight against the coronavirus, we asked our shirt atelier to produce masks with our scraps of fabric. In this way, we contribute to the protection of our customers on our humble level, while filling the order books of our partner ateliers.

The situation seriously affects small "non-essential" businesses, which are forced to close their physical stores. Despite our online presence, our activity has been greatly impacted. We had to make the heavy decision to close our store in Saint-Germain-des-Prés last October, followed by the upcoming closure of our Courbet address at the beginning of 2021.

Unscheduled events

Opportunities to celebrate have been rare and missed this year. As a result, ceremonies, weddings, baptisms, parties and meetings were absent, bringing with them occasions to dress up.

Habits then changed - perhaps due to homeworking - and saw a strong demand for casual-chic and dressy shirts, worn without ties or bow ties. This is what we offer with our mandarin collar, reverse collar and band collar shirts. We have also expanded our underwear range by introducing organic cotton trunks made with special care in Italy, for unparalleled comfort.

Since today's man is constantly reinventing himself, we wanted to meet your needs by imagining more technical clothing, like our Cool & Move shirt, in an ingenious fabric with quick-dry properties easy to iron, or more recently our full touchscreen leather gloves. From innovation to timeless design, there is only one step!

A comforting vision for 2021

The Nines DNA evolves and spontaneously evolves towards pieces and styles that are a little more casual and that respond to your needs and desires, according to the current context.

For this new year, we're playing the technical card! We observe a growing interest in technical and innovative pieces: we are very motivated to be able to concretize our projects in this way.
