The silk is woven in Como at one of Italy's oldest weavers, a passionate family business with unique expertise. In order to offer you high-quality ties, we use only beautiful natural materials such as silk, cotton, linen and wool. The unique craftsmanship of our workshops allows us to guarantee impeccable quality, with the smallest details subject to extremely rigorous inspection.

That is why all our The Nines ties are fitted with an interior wool interlining. This padded canvas gives it additional structure and thickness. This interlining, a guarantee of elasticity, allows the tie to return to its original shape after being knotted. It is one of the major components in tie construction, giving it a rich and delicate "hand".

The interlining used varies depending on the thickness of the fabric, so that the tie falls perfectly and to rebalance its density. Furthermore, on our The Nines ties you will find a silk lining (polyester is generally used for linings) in a color similar to the tie or with a pattern that pairs perfectly with the tie, for added originality. This silk lining, a hallmark of quality, will give your tie a better hand and better structure.

Attention to the smallest details

Always in the perpetual pursuit of impeccable quality for our ties, the seamstresses carry out every step of the tie-making process, right up to the final stitch, the bartak stitch. You will find this stitch on both blades of your tie; it finalizes the 29 steps of tie construction by binding them together. This stitch is made by wrapping the thread around the needle 18 times.

Finally, you will notice a loop-shaped thread on the small blade of your tie — this is the tension thread, which allows the fabric of your tie to be re-stretched after wearing it.

Our care advice

To care for your tie, we recommend that you untie the knot every day when you remove it, to prevent the fibers from becoming damaged. Then, hang it so that it does not crease. When you travel, you can roll it up on itself.
