The Wedding shirts
Along with the suit, the shirt is the most important piece of the wedding attire. You could, of course, choose a different coloured shirt, but the white shirt undoubtedly gives you the greatest stylistic freedom. Depending on the shape of your face and the accessories, ties, ascots or bow ties, certain shirt collars are to be preferred. Check our guide to find your ideal shirt collar.
Take the time to choose your wedding shirt, because in addition to your silhouette, it enhances the theme of the wedding. A modern linen shirt with a short collar is appropriate for a beach wedding, the elegant wing collar shirt with French cuffs is appropriate for the traditional church wedding and the round or tab collar shirt is ideal for a retro themed wedding. One shirt that works for everything and can still be worn after the wedding ceremony is the classic shark collar shirt.

The wing collar shirt
Traditional weddings require an ascot tie. Also known as a lavaliere, this tie is worn with a three-piece suit and a wing collar shirt. It is the particular shape of this collar, straight with the points folded forward, which perfectly highlights a bow tie or the so-called ascot, which is exclusively for the groom.
The shark collar shirt
The shark collar is, the classic collar by definition, so it's the less risky go to wedding shirt option ! The slightly spread collar tips allow the shark collar to maintain a good balance between horizontal and vertical and thus suit many different sizes and shapes of faces. This timeless shirt is best worn with a tie or a bow tie, but for a more casual oriented look, you can also unbutton the collar by one or two and wear it without any accessories.
The reverse collar shirt
Is the ceremony barefoot and on the beach? Is the wedding dress code smart casual or is there simply no dress code? Then choose a shirt with a short, modern collar like the reverse collar. It is literally the opposite of a classic collar, as its flaps are folded inside the neck and not outside. Sleek and chic with a casual look, it's the perfect shirt for events with less strict dress codes that, by definition, would fit everyone.
The tab collar shirt
Thanks to binge worthy series such as Peaky Blinders or Downton Abbey, the English gentleman of the 1920's is more chic than ever and with him, tab or pin collar shirts bring a retro touch to modern times. The tab collar, for example, is ideal for showing off a tie! The buttoned flap raises the tie knot and keeps it perfectly in place. This makes it easier to achieve the elegant dimple.
