Wearing the chino at a wedding

In the framework of our advices on chino outfits for different events, today we are invited to a wedding. As mentalities are evolving, more and more styles of weddings are being created. A wedding is above all an opportunity to dress up and put on your favourite pieces, sometimes even the most original ones ! Whether you're invited to a traditional wedding or something a little more extravagant, we've got some inspiring looks here. And if you're the main person involved in the ceremony, then your outfit should be the best kept secret.

Wearing a chino at a wedding

The classic wedding... But not too much

Here we are focusing on classic weddings, while adding that little casual touch that will make this moment wonderful. The chino doesn't seem to be welcome at first glance, but think again, we often see it in ceremonies. We prefer to stay with classic, dressy colours while feeling casual in our comfortable coton's chino. As well as being comfortable during the sitting hours, you'll be waiting for the dancing and the petits fours in style, nothing better to stand out.

For this look we'll opt for a navy blue chino, bringing a nice touch of sobriety. In order to make the top dressy and match the rest of the assembly, we will go for our best materials. Sea Island cotton will be the perfect candidate to combine style and elegance. In addition to being of superior quality, the round collar shirt will bring softness to your look without standing out from the crowd, reinforced by its collar demarcation.

Complete the look with a navy blue suit blazer, for the tie, we leave it to you. And for shoes, we can't recommend anything better than black leather shoes, brown for the purists.

The less traditional wedding

Now we turn to the more daring among you. Where theme is king and colour reigns, it is often the wrong taste that ruins the party. That's why you've come across our guide and we can assure you that you're in good hands. Not easy to play the originality card ? Wait until you read more...

No matter where you are, you're on this page because you're on a mission to get noticed and there's nothing better than a colourful chino to start our quest for originality. We imagine that you are expecting a cheerful moment where smiles will light up your day. Therefore, a terracotta or other summer colour will be perfect to match your outfit with contrasting details. You can keep the suit jacket sober, blue for example, to leave room for accessories. Combine this with a white linen shirt to affirm your casual side and make room for the details that make a real difference.

First of all we thought of the bow tie, and no, don't frown, it is clearly underrated nowadays and this accessory always makes you smile at first sight. Not only does it make you stand out from the crowd, but it comes in a variety of colours and patterns, each more original than the last. So why don't you go for the red colour that scares you so much ? It will blend in perfectly with the tones of your chino. Finally, why not match it all with a beautiful square pocket, still in the original colours of the chino and the bow, picking in the reds. You are thus ready to make the groomsmen jealous and to shine in this unusual and vitaminized look.

Wedding on the beach

The programme is even more exotic : we invite you to a ceremony by the sea or, better still, on the fine sand of a beach reserved for the occasion.

The chino on the beach is obvious, both for its casual look and for its comfortable qualities. The choice of colour will easily rely on a light tone like the terracotta of our previous example, although beige remains the choice par excellence. The look is easily topped off with a light top, and let's keep it formal around the edges, we recommend some shirts.

You can also go for a classic cotton shirt, white for example, to assert this summer side. If you like contrasts, our best suggestion would be this navy blue linen shirt, which has the particularity of an inverted collar, adding character to your outfit. Generally speaking, linen is a material that perfectly illustrates the beautiful days and even more so the seaside. So a white shirt with a Mao collar will also do the trick for an even more exotic look. Finally, for shoes, a pair of moccasins or boat shoes will go perfectly with the whole look. Even if we already know, you will surely end up with your feet in the sand !
