Egyptian cotton, known for its long and fine threads, is the perfect base material for mercerisation. This process, handled by a renowned Italian spinning mill, improves dye-uptake and tear strength, for long lasting colours with a silky shimmer und soft touch.

To increase the softness of our cotton lisle - Fil d'Ecosse - socks even more, the socks are produced on a traditional machine with 240 needles, 40 more than most sock making machines. In summer or winter, cotton lisle - Fil d'Ecosse can be worn at any temperature thanks to its ability to absorb moisture.

Attention: Lisle socks do not contain elastane and therefore look much bigger than other socks. In addition, our socks are ironed, which stretches the fibres and adds to the visual effect. This impression disappears after the first wash when the fibres contract. If in doubt, choose one size smaller!
