men's lamb leather gloves

The finest leather

Lamb leather

Just as certain fabrics are better suited to certain garments in terms of use or style, in leather goods, certain leathers are reserved, or at least favored, for glove making. A glove must be flexible, to allow enough freedom of movement, and keep warm, obviously, as we wear them when it's cold.

The leather that best meets these needs is lamb leather: it's one of the most supple skins, with a very fine grain, making it ideal for dressy leather gloves. And to add a layer, literally, the lamb leather of our gloves has a nappa finish. It's a protective surface treatment to make the leather more resistant.

The most noble part of leather

Full grain leather

When animal skin is transformed into leather, that is after the tanning stage, three layers of leather are differentiated: full grain, corrected grain, and split leather.

Full grain leather refers to the outer part of the animal's epidermis, where the hair is implanted. This is where you find the highest density of fibers, which gives it its strength. Characterized by incredible softness, this part of the leather is undoubtedly the most noble and our first choice for manufacturing our leather accessories.

The softest wool

Cashmere

How could we not pair the most supple leather with the softest wool? Exactly! That's why our lamb leather gloves have a 100% cashmere lining. To obtain these prized fibers, you not only have to travel to the other side of the world, to China, but also wait for winter. It's only under very particular climatic conditions, down to -40°C!, that the cashmere goat doubles its summer coat with "guard hair". These long hairs protect the precious underdown so that it remains intact until the spring shearing.

To protect your hands from the cold, there's no need to go to China or wait for winter! Moreover, as a natural material, cashmere is hypoallergenic and thus suitable for the most sensitive skin.

Traditional Italian craftsmanship

100 years of expertise and 2 hours of work per glove

The secret and strength of Made in Italy is partly due to the country's regional specialization. Thus, wool is knitted in the northern city of Biella and leather is crafted in Naples, in the south of the country. Our glove maker has been working with leather there for several decades and 4 generations. And that's the second reason behind the quality of Made in Italy, the transmission of traditional and artisanal expertise.

Craftsmanship is the keyword when it comes to leather glove making: at least 2 hours of manual work are needed for each pair of gloves! That's normal, when you know there are no less than 10 manufacturing steps and everything is done by hand.
