Merino wool comes from the breeding of merino sheep, a breed that has crossed continents and oceans. They are said to have originated in Asia Minor, in present-day Turkey, and conquered the land beyond the peninsula. The sheep were transported to North Africa and then to Europe, especially to Spain in the 12th century. The quality of merino wool has seduced many countries with the fineness and warmth of its yarn. In France, Louis XVI bought a few in 1786 to contribute to the improvement of the French herds.
You know that merino wool is one of the best types of wool for the production of clothing and accessories. The fleece is dense, warm and produces a long, thin yarn, ideal for making sweaters and scarves that do not pill. Another important point: Merino wool naturally regulates heat, i.e. it keeps you at a stable temperature in more or less cold weather.
All our scarves are made from 100% Merino virgin wool, woven in a family workshop that has over 70 years of know-how. In the Italian Alps, more precisely in Biella, an important wool basin. Our partner produces quality products and has been developing a traceability approach for several years. They are GOTS certified, which means that they use high quality raw materials and the wool is not chemically treated. The GOTS also guarantees complete traceability from delivery to production and distribution. In this way, an end product with an ecological and responsible approach is to be offered.
In our workshop in Paris, we have designed 16 different models to accompany you during the cool season. Our scarves are more or less thick, plain or patterned: houndstooth, Prince of Wales check or herringbone..... That's it, we are satisfied, it's up to you to make a choice!
