Non, le smoking se porte traditionnellement sans ceinture. Le pantalon est généralement maintenu par des pattes de serrage latérales, des boutons pour bretelles ou une coupe parfaitement ajustée.
En principe, aucune. Si le pantalon possède des passants, ce qui est rare sur un véritable smoking, il est préférable d'opter pour une ceinture très sobre en cuir noir avec une boucle discrète.
Ce n'est pas la solution la plus élégante. Le smoking est conçu pour être porté sans ceinture afin de conserver une ligne continue entre la veste et le pantalon.
La ceinture de smoking, aussi appelée cummerbund, est une large ceinture en tissu portée à la taille. Elle n'a pas pour fonction de maintenir le pantalon, mais de couvrir la jonction entre la chemise et le pantalon et d'apporter une finition plus habillée.
Le smoking s'accompagne généralement d'un nœud papillon, d'une chemise de smoking, d'une paire de boutons de manchette et de chaussures habillées en cuir verni ou très bien cirées. Une pochette blanche viendra compléter l'ensemble avec sobriété.
