End-on-end (or “fil-à-fil”) weaving is a subtle process that consists of alternating the colours of the weft and warp yarns to obtain superb shades. The suit has a mottled fabric which gives depth and character to the whole set. The turbines have thus exerted a delicate twist on the fabric to obtain a regular yarn and a meticulous, neat and delicate item.
This suit is built with a half-canvas interlining, a technique combining traditional and fused canvas. The canvas is the method that allows the fabric and its lining to be fixed together. The traditional canvas consists in fixing horsehair between the two layers, because the latter has the particularity of being able to easily form again while being very resistant.
Thus, the top of the jacket being more stressed, it is made with traditional interlining unlike the bottom of the jacket, the least stressed part in everyday life, constructed in fused canvas.
The half-canvas interlining of this suit guarantees a more comfortable fit at the chest, increased durability compared to fusing and a better fit globally.
The properties of horsehair make the suit a precious ally when travelling!
