Origins and artisanal traditions
Directly inspired by the Scottish oxford fabric, Japanese oxford made its appearance during the Meiji era, between 1868 and 1912. This period, marked by the beginning of Western textile imports to Japan, represented a turning point for its industrial activity. Japanese weavers were won over by the softness and breathability of the fabric and decided to rework it in their own way, according to their own codes.
Deeply attached to ancestral manufacturing processes, Japanese textile artisans place great importance on the valorization of raw and authentic materials. This approach, directly inspired by wabi-sabi, consists in crafting minimalist, imperfect and above all singular garments.

Woven two by two, the warp and weft threads of the oxford cotton bring comfort and durability to the garment.
