What is Twill
Twill is often associated with a fabric, though such a fabric does exist; Twill is first and foremost a weave. The twill weave corresponds to the passing of a warp thread under one weft thread, then over two weft threads. This weaving technique enhances colors and brings light to the fabric.
Twill is distinguished to the naked eye by its diagonal lines formed by the weaving technique. These diagonals give the fabric a textured effect. Twill shirts are soft and pleasant to wear. This supple fabric is easy to care for and irons quickly.

Twill or poplin shirt?
Poplin and twill can be distinguished with the naked eye. Poplin is a finer fabric and therefore more transparent than twill.
We therefore cannot recommend one over the other, as both are perfect. It is up to you to decide which product suits you best. These are two very pleasant materials to wear — you will feel light and at ease in your shirt.
Some style tips
From a style perspective, we have several Twill shirt models, so you can put together different looks.
- Some shirts have more formal collars and others more casual ones. For a meeting with colleagues, opt for a blue twill French-collar shirt that you can pair with a suit.
- For a smart yet casual look, for example when heading to an after-work event, opt for a white twill shirt with a reverse collar. Wear it untucked over your jeans with a pair of sneakers.
