Origins and artisanal traditions
Directly inspired by Scottish oxford fabric, Japanese oxford made its appearance during the Meiji era, between 1868 and 1912. This period, marked by the beginning of Western textile imports to Japan, represented a turning point for its industrial activity. Weavers fell under the spell of the fabric's softness and breathability and decided to rework it in their own way, according to their own codes.
Deeply attached to ancestral manufacturing processes, Japanese textile artisans place great importance on enhancing raw and authentic materials. This intention, directly inspired by wabi-sabi, consists in crafting minimalist, imperfect and above all singular garments.

If we love the Japanese oxford shirt so much, it's because it feels great to wear — really great. Woven two by two, the warp and weft threads of oxford cotton bring comfort and durability to the garment. The result: your shirt works just as well for a day at the office as for a weekend by the water. 144g/m² of pure comfort, ideal for the mid-season or to wear as an overshirt on summer evenings.
