Japanese oxford, true emblem of the land of the rising sun

Origins and artisanal traditions

Directly inspired by Scottish oxford fabric, Japanese oxford made its appearance during the Meiji era, between 1868 and 1912. This period, marked by the beginning of Western textile imports to Japan, marked a turning point for its industrial activity. The weavers indeed succumbed to the charm of the softness and breathability of the fabric and decided to rework it in their own way, according to their own codes.

Very attached to ancestral manufacturing processes, Japanese textile artisans place great importance on the valorization of raw and authentic materials. This desire, directly inspired by wabi-sabi, consists in the creation of minimalist, imperfect and above all unique garments.

Comfort, practicality and versatility

If we love the shirt in Japanese oxford so much, it's because we feel good in it, very good even. Woven two by two, the warp and weft threads of oxford cotton bring comfort and resistance to the garment. Result: your shirt is suitable for both a day at the office and a weekend by the water. 144g/m2 of pure comfort, ideal for mid-season or to wear as an overshirt for summer evenings.
